Conference to Combat Bullying May 8 in Yonkers
“Understanding, Combating and Preventing Bullying” will be the focus of a conference on May 8 at the Grinton I. Will branch of the Yonkers Public Library, 1500 Central Park Ave., Yonkers.

“This conference takes on the important subject of how to stop bullying,” said County Executive Robert P. Astorino. “It features attorneys and other professionals who will offer specific advice about what to do to prevent bullying and how to help loved ones who are victims.”
The conference will feature attorneys and other professionals. Welcoming remarks will be delivered by Margaret Jessup and Carolyn Fluckinger, co-presidents of the Grandparents Coalition. Social workers Andrea Fallick and Cindie Walline from Student Assistance Services (SAS) will present an overview of the non-profit organization, which deals with substance abuse and early intervention. Fallick and Walline are also part of SAS’ Bullying Prevention Program.
Other speakers will be Marion M. Walsh, Esq., from Ingerman Smith; Heide Mason, an assistant Westchester district attorney; Carol Boccumini, Esq., from SAS and Kelly Johnson, assistant recreation commissioner of the City of New Rochelle. Gina DeCrescenzo, Esq., an attorney with Klein Varble and Greco. will discuss the impact of bullying on special education students.
