Do you know a senior who is making a positive difference in Westchester County through his or her professional life, volunteer work or both? If so, Westchester County Executive George Latimer invites you to submit a nomination to the Westchester Senior Citizens Hall of Fame, now in its 40th year.
The Senior Hall of Fame is a tribute to older adults who have generously given their time and energy to improve the quality of life in their communities or the County at large. Their contributions can be through their professional lives, volunteer work or both.
Deadline Sept. 9, 2022
Nominations deadline is Sept. 9. Nominations may be submitted using the online 2022 nomination form or by downloading and completing, as instructed, the printable form. If you decide to mail the form using the US Postal Service, it must be postmarked by Sept. 9 and sent to:
Westchester County Senior Hall of Fame
Attn: Myrna Merchant
9 South First Avenue, 10th Floor
Mt. Vernon, NY 10550
To be nominated, a person must:
- Be at least 60 or older, live in Westchester, and not be a past Hall of Fame inductee. View list of former inductees.
- Have made significant contributions to improving life in Westchester.
- Be an outstanding leader or advocate.
- Have done professional work that reflects innovative solutions to fulfill unmet community needs (if nomination is based on paid professional work).
All nominations will be reviewed by a judging committee of past Senior Hall of Fame honorees, members from DSPS’s Aging Network, the county’s Senior Council and the Older Americans Act Advisory Council.
Those selected will be inducted into the Senior Hall of Fame during a multi-platform virtual event on Friday, Dec. 2, 2022. You will be invited to view this event for free from our website, Facebook and YouTube.
The Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services, Westchester County Parks and the Westchester Public/Private Partnership for Aging Services are hosting the event.
