New York State Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins will lead a program for seniors who are caring for their grandchildren or other young relatives on May 20 at the Yonkers Riverfront Library, One Larkin Plaza, Yonkers.
The event is open to “kin caregivers,” and is sponsored by the New York State Kincare Coalition. The Westchester Grandparents Coalition of the Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services is a co-sponsor.

Participants will be able to share the joys and challenges of raising a grandchild. They will also be able to speak out on the policies and laws that help them provide the best care for their grandchildren as well as learn what benefits and local resources are able to help themselves.
Other co-sponsors are AARP New York, GrandPower Advocates of the Family Service Society of Yonkers and Lutheran Social Services of New York.
